Doing More For Local Tourism
Said to be the largest parish in England, Cliviger contains within its boundaries pretty villages and spectacular scenery. Tales are told of the horse that won the Derby, of General Scarlet and the charge of the Heavy Brigade and of local landowners who have left their mark on the area.
Discover the source of the River Calder, marvel at the Cliviger Gorge and then sit back and enjoy the small villages of Holme Chapel and Walk Mill.
From the valley we climb to over 1200 feet above sea level where we have a bird's-eye view of the Cliviger Valley and stunning views across to the Pennine Hills.
