Doing More For Local Tourism

North-West Lancashire abounds with beautiful scenery, sparkling and historic villages. Nowhere better can this be seen than in the popular pretty village of Whalley.
Hear about the ruined Abbey, the medieval church of St Mary and All Saints and the link with the highway men. Admire the Victorian viaduct which spans the valley, listen to stories of times gone by and marvel at the outstanding architecture of Stonyhurst College, a Jesuit boarding school; Tolkien the author of “The Lord of the Rings” was educated here. On our journey we cross three very distinctive rivers and even catch a glimpse of one more!
