Doing More For Local Tourism

Travel with us on a journey into the past when cotton manufacturing was in its infancy, passing by the former home of James Hargreaves, inventor of the Spinning Jenny. On the moorland roads listen to tales of men marching to save their livelihood, of 1300 people losing their homes so that neighbouring towns could be provided with a water supply.
Leaving moorland roads we journey on through Helmshore, which has many tales to tell, upwards and onwards where the Rossendale Valley opens out in front of us before descending to Holcolme Brook. The villages of Turton and Edgworth reveal former homes of handloom weavers as we journey onwards admiring the scenery as it opens up before us.
