A traditional fairground, complete with a fortune teller, Punch and Judy, peep show, donkey rides and even a circus ring, will transport families to Victorian times at Oswaldtwistle Mills this summer to raise funds for local children and young people in need.

THAT’S CHAMPION! AWARDS SUCCESS FOR LOCAL BUTCHERS
A Cumberland Sausage was the star of the North West BPEX Pork Product Excellence Awards, clinching the Overall Champion title for Ye Old Sausage Shop.
The Oswaldtwistle-based business, run by Martin Teese and David Paintin, was awarded the top accolade at the BPEX Roadshow in Bolton after topping the Speciality Pork Sausage category. In an added bonus, Martin’s cousin and full time staff member Jessica Leliuga was crowned Champion ‘Young Sausage Maker’ for the North West, for the second year running.

The UK’s leading specialist aquatic retailer, Maidenhead Aquatics is set to open a brand new store at Lancashire tourist attraction Oswaldtwistle Mills.
Work to build the new 3,000 sq ft store commences at the end of March, with Oswaldtwistle Mills investing £100,000 in the construction and Maidenhead Aquatics earmarking £150,000 for the fit out. The store is scheduled to open at the end of the summer and will employ up to six people.

The shell of a redundant cotton mill has been transformed into a thriving business community where more than 70 people work and that figure is set to rise to 100.
Oswaldtwistle Mills is best known as an award-winning shopping and tourism venue. But it also provides opportunities for small businesses to grow after converting the adjoining 28,000sq ft mill and offices to the rear of the shopping village, which became empty in 2009.

A team of budding young entrepreneurs have kickstarted a new business and are now opening a concession stand in Oswaldtwistle Mills, before they have even left high school.
Inkthreadable creates personalised products using printing and embroidery machines. Darweners Alexander and Aaron Cunliffe, who are aged 15 and twins, launched the business along with Alexander’s girlfriend Amy Dunn.

Ye Olde Sausage Shop produced an array of fantastic meat products to receive eight gold and two silver awards at the BPEX Product Evaluation Roadshow. In addition, they were also awarded the Champion title for their ‘Beef & Horseradish Mustard Sausage’ in the Lamb or Beef Sausage category.
