General Maintenance Assistant

HOURS - 37.5 hours (occasional weekend and out of hours work will be required)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:  To help ensure the Mill and all connecting businesses are maintained to a high standard in an efficient and timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential 

Building experience along with a good range of maintenance experience

Able to work within a team

Excellent health & safety awareness

Clean driving licence

Desirable

Trade qualifications

First aid certificate

Health and safety certificate

PERSONAL QUALITIES

Must be able to work at heights

Good communication and customer care skills

Flexible and willing to work out of hours as necessary

Must be fit and healthy as manual work required

“Can do” attitude

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To undertake any minor and major repairs and projects

To assist with all aspects of maintenance including building work, joinery / shop-fitting, plumbing, painting etc

To ensure health and safety rules are adhered to at all times

To work effectively and efficiently within a small team

An in-depth knowledge of The Ribble Valley and Pendle areas and the local history is essential.

The successful person will have a pleasant, confident manner with a good sense of humour.

Days will vary but to include weekend work.

 £25.00 for (up to)1.5 hour tour

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The smooth and effective running of the delicatessen within Oswaldtwistle Mills
  • Maximise the delicatessen performance
  • Ordering from suppliers and sourcing new suppliers

·        Promotion of the deli through a range of activities including Facebook, Twitter, internal & external promotions

·        Ensure hygiene, health and safety regulations are strictly observed

  • Ensure customers are given the highest standards of service.
  • Prepare food as required
  • To maintain all Company standards of merchandising and housekeeping
  • Action any other reasonable duties required by management

Lighting Department – Part-time Sales Assistant

16 hours

 

9.30 – 5.30 Friday

9.30 – 5.30 Saturday

Plus extra hours as required (holiday cover, sale events etc.

 

Candidates must:

  • Have previous retail and/or customer service experience
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be confident in working with the public
  • Be flexible with working hours when required

Domestic lighting knowledge is not essential as training will be given, however the roll dies involve putting away stock, merchandising and general housekeeping in addition to promoting sales.

Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of small team.
